Trich Mir at 7,708m/25,288ft,
is the highest peak of the Hindu Kush Range among a chain of peaks of nearby
glaciers; Upper Tirich, Lower Tirich and North Barum.
Climbing History: Trich Mir main Peak (7708m) was first
climbed in1950 by a Norwegian Expedition, led by Arne Naess .From its east,
it has a height of 7692m/ 25236 ft and was climbed in 1964 by a Norwegian
Expedition which was again led by Arne Naess.
Trich Mir West,7500m,/24607 ft high, was climbed
in 1974 by an Italian expedition members
Beppe Re and Guido Machetto.
Route: The traditional route
to the peak passes through Chitral - Reshun - Kuragh - Khosht - Drassan -
Zani pass - Shagram and Shaikh Naik. There is also a shorter route to the
peak. After a two-hour jeep drive on Chitral-Mastuj road one has to take a
direct route from Perpish to Barum village and then through the glacier of
the same name (Barum) to the peak, provided one is well acclimatized before.

DAY 01: ARRIVAL ISLAMABAD
|

Arrival Islamabad today.
A member of the Vertical Explorers staff will
meet you at the airport and escort you to the hotel.
Today either you can relax or you can enjoy an exploratory walk in the
old part of Rawalpindi; wander past the vegetable and spice markets,
beautifully carved old houses and trucks, cows pestering the vegetable
vendors, catch traditional craftsmen at work in silver and gold
bazaars .You will then continue on the main street linking the Twin
cities - Murree Road - before arriving at the gleaming new capital,
Islamabad. You pass shining new buildings and thousands of park areas -
a full 50 percent of the 350 square mile site is set aside for parks.
You will then stop at the Shakar Parian to catch a bird's eye view of
Islamabad. Our next stop will be Shah Faisal Mosque which is the
landmark of Islamabad. This evening you
will enjoy a welcome dinner
with other
trekkers. |

DAY 02: ISLAMABAD - DIR / CHITRAL |
|
Today after briefing will will depart for
Chitral . The drive is compensated by
the beautiful scenery along the Malakand Pass, Chakdara, Timergarah town
which are famous for its oldest civilizations and tribal hospitable
culture. We pass through the historical towns of Taxila,
Hassan Abdal, Takht Bhai , Churchil point at Malakand Butkhaila.

DAY 03: DIR -CHITRAL |

The
journey on the highway is most exciting and thrilling over 3100 meter
high Lowari Pass which connects Dir, with Chitral winding through mountain ranges and following the ancient
Silk route along the Chital river.
